BREAKING:

Yves Saint Laurent has confirmed rumors that Hedi Slimane will be taking over for Stefano Pilati as creative director for Yves Saint Laurent. Hedi Slimane is returning to the house where he was artistic director of Menswear until 2000. Hedi Slimane will also be continuing his photography work at the same time, which is not uncommon, as he was the photographer for many a Dior Ad Campaign during his reign at Dior Homme.

This announcement is  received with much enthusiasm by the fashion community at large, but is extremely well received by yours truly, as I've been a follower and enthusiast of Hedi Slimane's work over the last ten years. His designs, works, and photography are all impressive in and of themselves, but his vision is undoubtedly what will set him apart and reinvigorate Yves Saint Laurent's House in a way we haven't seen since Tom Ford's makeover of Gucci.
